Secondary Curriculum

OUR ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

Our aim is to provide quality education that fosters success in academics, spiritual, social and physical areas of the students' lives.

The atmosphere in the school is warm and caring, offering a stimulating and enriched educational environment.

Emphasis is placed on Thai and English Language, Social Studies, Math and Science. Mandarin Language is taught as early as Grade 1 as a developmental activity.

In addition to proficiency in academic subjects, a key objective within our programme is to facilitate the students' understanding of foreign cultures as well as the appreciation of their own.

Enhance

The primary objective of the English Programme is to give students a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy, in both English and Thai. The students are more exposed to English language and the focus is on listening, speaking, reading and writing in the classroom. There is a greater emphasis on listening and speaking, as this is the area of most interest to students at the lower primary level, and also enables them to develop an ability to communicate in basic English. While from the higher primary level, students are focused on enhancing their reading comprehension and creative writing skills.

Encourage

The success of our students reflects the efficiency and excellence of their training and learning at BBS. Many of our graduates continue their studies at prestigious secondary schools and universities. The school also publishes students‟ accomplishments in various fields - academics, sports, arts and music - through our website, Facebook page and semi-annual school publication called Hello Kids Magazine, where chosen student compositions and art works are also showcased.

Engage

We at BBS mold our students, not only into knowledgeable and confident individuals, but innovative as well. Our courses are designed to encourage critical thinking through research, class discussions, and individual and group reporting/presentations in the higher levels (G4 and up). The students also learn to work as a team, as they practise division of responsibilities in their class activities and projects. Primary students also experience a democratic process of choosing their leaders through our annual student elections. They are made socially aware of the issues in and out of the school, and are encouraged to think of creative solutions to improve the students‟ welfare.
